E-Commerce Framework

To realize e-commerce system, we need a framework or skeleton of the system to be built. According to Choi, Stahl, & Whinston, (1997), e-commerce framework built with the involvement of individual infrastructure, supporting e-commerce service, and of course e-commerce application itself, as shown in the Figure below

Infrastructure in e-commerce is the back bone framework or backbone of the business is run by ICT technologies. Choi, Stahl, & Whinston (1997) identified e-commerce framework infratrusture infrstructure become business service, information distribution infrastructure, multimedia content and network, network infrastructure, and interfacing infrastructure. In the picture below can be seen the kinds of technology that is included in each e-commerce infrastructure framework.

The second framework is supporting service to support e-commerce. According to Choi, Stahl, & Whinston (1997), support service involving business people or people, public policy or government regulation on e-commerce based business, marketing and advertisement on the Internet, support service, and business partnership. In general it can be concluded that the support service within its framework Choi, Stahl, & Whinston (1997) defines that a site or e-commerce portal will engage the services of businesses and third parties or business partnership, depending on the type of business model used.

Framework The third is the application of e-commerce itself. In this case, the application of e-commerce is highly dependent on the business model that is run by a service provider of e-commerce. For example, companies that provide or carry out online job applications (eg www.jobsdb.com) will have a different business model of the Bank is running the application for the purposes of e-Banking

From the explanation in this subsection can be concluded that e-commerce is a business concept that is different from traditional business, in which case the medium used for business (searching catalogs, advertising and transactions) using ICT technologies. The use of ICT technology in e-commerce raises new paradigm of doing business (business model), where it involves the support of the application for the purposes of e-commerce, supporting services and infrastructure of ICT technology, in this case the Internet and Web.
