What internet? What Intranet?
In this section we will consider the similarities and differences between internet and intranet. The Internet is a public network. Each user can access the Internet with the assumption that the user has an account with an Internet service provider (ISP). The Internet is a worldwide network, while the intranet is private and does not need to be essential to connect to the World Wide Web (WWW). Intranet network connected to a particular company, and users usually employees of the company. Intranet itself is separated from the Internet through a firewall (or some firewalls). Intranet usually have throughput and higher performance compared with the Internet and is generally more secure than the Internet.

Both use the same network technology, TCP / IP, and both can use a browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Both use the pages in HTML and XML, and both are able to bring the pages in a multimedia format. In addition, they also can use the Java programming language to develop applications.
