Types of Knowledge Management

Generally there are two types of Knowledge, the Tacit Knowledge and Explicit Knowledge

Tacit Knowledge: Knowledge is mostly located within an organization. Tacit Knowledge is something that is known and experienced, but it is difficult to be disclosed clearly and completely. This type of knowledge can also be interpreted as the knowledge that is in the mind / brain or inherent in a person who acquired through experience, ideas, ideas, perceptions and expertise in his work

Explicit Knowledge: knowledge that has been recorded and documented so more easily distributed and managed. This type of knowledge can also be interpreted as the knowledge and experience of "how to", described in a straightforward and systematic. Concrete examples are manual operation of an engine or the explanation given by the instructor in a training program.

Knowledge Management is an information management paradigm that comes from thinking that pure knowledge is actually embedded in the minds and thoughts of every human being. Thus it is necessary to build a mechanism for disseminating information and experience of the existing resource manuisa that increased knowledge of each actor activities in an organization.

Knowledge management was originally defined as a process of applying a systematic approach to capture, manage, and disseminate knowledge throughout the organization, so that the organization can work faster, reuse best practices contained in the organization, and reduce the cost to redo the work of the project to the project. (Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1995)
